Material Description:

The Urethane family of foams is very extensive in both its applications and properties.
  1. Polyether Urethane is commonly called foam rubber or "PolyUrethane" foam. It is used for many cushioning applications from upholstery to case inserts. It is available in densities ranging from .9# to 2.7#, with indentation load deflections ranging from 14 to 125.  "PolyUrethane" foams are also available in a variety of colors: black, purple, orange, green, blue, and white.
  2. Reticulated Polyether Urethane is typically referred to as filter foam. It comes in three density grades S(1.9#),R(1.2#), and T(1.4#). The S grade ranges from 4 to 90 ppi(pores per inch), the R grade ranges from 30 to 40 ppi, and the T grade ranges from 15 to 50 ppi. These materials are useable as air filters, water filters, outdoor cushioning, etc. Manufactured by Crest Foam.
  3. Polyester Urethane is the progenitor of Polyether Urethane, and can be used for all the applications of polyether urethanes. It is well suited for sound dampening and used in electrical applications. most polyesters meet UL94 standards. Manufactured by Crest Foam.
  4. Rigid Urethane is a rigid material similar to styrofoam that performs as a high efficiency insulation, and is easily carved for sculpting fiberglass models. Manufactured by Dow Chemical. Available in various denisities starting at 2#/cf.
