Polyethylene is a closed cell waterproof foam. It is available in four primary types:
- Light weight (1.2 PCF density) material available in thicknesses ranging from 1/32" thick to 1/4" thick. Commonly used as a wrap to prevent marring of sensitive surfaces (eg. wood products, paint finishes, etc.)
- Medium to heavy weight roll stock (1.7 PCF, 2.2 PCF, and 4 PCF densities) material available in thicknesses from 3/8" to 1/2" and . Commonly used as tool box liners and in packaging applications.
- Laminated polyethylene sheet(1.2 PCF, 1.7 PCF, and 2.2 PCF densities) made from laminated 1/2" inch sheets. It is available in a wide range of thicknesses and densities and used in packaging applications such as "End Caps", gym mats, specialty case inserts, and OEM applications.
- Extruded Plank(2.2 PCF, 4 PCF, 6 PCF, and 9 PCF densities) is used for heavier packaging applications and OEM products.
